Besides what's happening in the background, many viewers didn't "get" BIA.  I liked it, but I know I'm in the minority, Lol.

I still believe Beau is Afraid was poorly marketed. How can you direct a film that costs 34 mil, but not do adequate PR? Like interviews on morning programs, late night evening shows, commercials, etc?
It's not enough to do a couple of Art House Q&As, or a few podcasts that the general public don't even listen to.  Perhaps A24 doesn't have the resources. Well, they shouldn't expect to break even on expensive projects.

I agree Callie. I havent seen it. gotta catch up i am behind in my joaquin movies.

Some movies joaq makes people dont understand like you were never really here and inherent vice. it was easy 2 understand 4 me tho.. i had no problems.

im sure i wont with bia too.

i think it was poorly marketed too cos i dont think joaquin does any pr that much for his movies anymore. like he once used 2..

hugs love ya xoxo

Hey Mystaria - Yes, right about Joaquin. 😉 I guess I was putting the blame more on Ari Aster and even more on A24. C’mon C’mon could’ve done better also but for Luke warm advertisement.
