Hey HippieChick, you maybe able to confirm this... I'm sure there is a character in Inherent Vice actually called Joaquin? Correct? Hangs around with the Bambi character If i remember correctly? 

I don't see the character in the imdb list...

Yes, Joaquin is associated with Cookie, whom they both, respectively, date Lourdes and Motella, the stewardii who Doc gets caught by Penny in a hot tub minus bathing suits.

I wonder if they'll manage to fit all the characters into the movie? A few minor ones could be dropped I guess to make things less confusing and also to get it all squeezed into 2h 18mins... depends how true to the book PTA wants to be I guess.

Cookie and Joaquin are semi important. I think Luz is there for the sex scene with Doc. To me after reading the book four times the pivotal characters seem to be, of course, Doc, but also Bigfoot, Denis, Shasta, Sloane, Mickey, Penny, Adrian, Japonica, Dr. B, Puck. The rest just kind of come in and then fade into the background. Well, then there's Coy. Doc comes in contact with a lot of people but only for a moment. Just like the book, I feel this movie is going to be all over the place.

Personally, It looks like the original twitter fella lacked credibility to begin with, judging by his previous tweets:

Yes it can be very rewarding and frustrating at the same time. That guy who sent out that tweet along with those who have been claiming to stream the full movie online should be strung up by their teeth for.causing such false hope. I jist dont understand why people can be such assholes. Anyway, a poster would be great at this point. I envision one with Doc looking all freaked out with a joint in.his mouth as the mainpart of the poster surrounded by an angry Bigfoot, a freaked out Denis and maybe a non.chalant Shasta and jealous Penny.

Oh and cigs and red vines are saying the press got to screen Inherent Vice today in 35mm at NYFF.

Maybe they'll be asked not to publish any reviews of it until after NYFF though?  Would seem weird for reviews to come out before the premier or even a trailer/poster.This whole process is backwards, do these guys really know what they are doing...
