Admin, you're name-dropping! Laugh Wink

Yes, Joaquin will be able to see for miles & miles with all the carrots he's getting! I suppose the good thing for him with these critics' awards is that he doesn't have to turn up in a tuxedo to collect them or make a speech.

Did I misunderstand when you said the Oscar nominations would be out today? According to this site it's the voting which opens today...

http://www.indiantelevis...llywood/y2k12/aah588.php

Oscar nominations voting opens today to 5,856 Academy Voters
Indiantelevision.com Team
(17 December 2012 5:32 pm)

MUMBAI: Nominations voting for the 85th Academy Awards open Monday for the 5,856 voting members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Members will have until 3 January, 2013 to vote electronically or mail in a paper ballot.

Any paper ballots received after the deadline will not be counted.

Nominations and final Awards ballots will be tabulated and verified by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to ensure that all aspects of the balloting process are accurate and secure.

This will be the first year the Academy is providing its membership the opportunity to vote electronically. Several voting resources will be available to members, including assisted voting stations in Los Angeles, New York and London, and a 24-hour support call center during voting periods.

The 85th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live on 10 January, 2013 in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented on 25 February, 2013, at the Dolby Theatre™ at Hollywood & Highland Center® and televised live on Star Movies. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries worldwide.

PS: I've been having some problems accessing the board lately. Is it just me?

Yes, it's been hard-work getting onto the forum at various points today. You can thank a substandard hosting company for that! They are useless and not fit for purpose! I've been on to them again. Mad

Er, when i met them, i'd say it's strange to see Nigel Planer (Neil) smile in real life! So used to see him having a miserable face on TV! But he's a nice and friendly chap. Christopher Ryan (Mike) is also friendly, but pretty quiet and reserved. Cool

Cool! Cool

Now there's another British actor in a big movie : Martin Freeman. I like him ! I wanna watch the hobbit just because of him. Tonight I watched the last episode of SH season 2.. It's an episode when Watson thinks Sherlock is dead. It was so sad ... I cried a lot actually Blushing I love this series !!

It would be great if Joaquin played a character On TV ! I'd love that ! Now the BBC could hire him LOL

I didn't read it, Sami, no. Perhaps some of the viewers did though.

I know! He's such a funny character! Laugh All 4 of the main characters are brilliant portrayals of British student stereotypes of that time.

Some of my Christmas will be like Admin's. "Sitting around"....yeah, that does happen! Laugh And some of it will be unconventional too. Smile

That is a sad episode. Martin Freeman was in a series called The Office...lots of laughter but also many other emotions too.

Thanks for the DVD info, Sami. I haven't checked, but I don't think The Master it's out here yet.

Glenn Gould plays Bach

Do you see Freddie or rather Joaquin as Freddie ? I was watching this and it reminded me so much of him, if he had learned to play that is, Freddie I mean. Pure energy !

Hi Sami, in terms of acting in The Master, i think Joaquin does a great job of separating hos own personality completely from the character... unlike, say, Robert De Niro, who, no matter what character he plays, i always just see Robert De Niro Cool
